Good Master, what must I do to win eternal life?
Luke’s Gospel 18, 18
One of Israel’s leading and wealthiest men asked Jesus (in fact, he asks this question for us): How do I get eternal life? How can I escape hell, I can go to heaven, I can stand before the eternal judge, can I get peace with God, can I get forgiveness of all guilt, how do I get meaning and purpose in life?
Everyone has their questions and problems, but basically the questions are all one: life is not so liveable, how do I get a new life in harmony with God ??
The man said he kept all the commandments. He was certainly religious, religious and ecclesiastical. A good family man and at work without any blame. But he felt exactly: It is not enough before God. It was not enough for him either. – Rich people often take their lives because it is so dismal to live ….
What do I have to do to make it different? These questions are urgent, because many take their own lives or plunge into addictions because they can not stand the questions and the emptiness. What do I have to do??
Jesus says: Christian is not enough. You have to be a Christian! Jesus says: Separate yourself from everything your heart hangs on! Jesus says: It does not depend on work or effort, that will never be enough. Become a child, a child of God, and you will get it for free.
Children can trust. You can accept gifts. You have no ulterior motives. You know exactly what is a matter of the heart. You understand what it means when the promissory note that speaks against us is crossed out and erased. You know the liberation from the guilty conscience, when all is well again. You can be happy. You do not always have to make an effort ….
Become like a child, a child of God! Accept the salvation Jesus gives. Blame Him, and He gives you liberation, cleansing, salvation. Then there is harmony with God, nothing separates more. Believe Him!
Thank you Jesus, you have given me salvation, forgiveness and deliverance! You have reconciled me to God! You make me a child of God! Jesus, you are the Savior, Christ, Messiah, Redeemer and my Prince of Peace!
